Affordable Health Care

Reducing the cost of health care by 15% by 2030.

In 2021, New Day Nevada led the campaign to pass the second-in-the-nation health care public option.

Beginning in 2026, Nevada will offer a state-designed health insurance plan that will be offered both on and off the state health exchange. Under Senate Bill 420, sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro, the introductory rate for the new public option will have to be at least 5% cheaper than comparable plans and reach 15% savings by 2030. The new public option will be offered in every county of the state, providing an additional option for rural Nevadans while also bolstering reimbursement rates for rural hospitals.
